One Wonderful New Year

As we rushed to the best look out we had which was in front of Parnell Pools the Fireworks on the Sky Tower just started blowing up. “We just got there in time” I said to my family, people just started rushing in when the Fireworks blew up. We weren't in the best view but at least we got to see those amazing Fireworks. Infact we were supposed to go Silo Park but we all had to wait for my Aunty Adah. I heard that the best look out of the Sky Tower was at Silo Park so I assumed that it will be full and CRAZY!!! When the Fireworks finished we had to leave because traffic would of started getting heavy. As we left my Family started feeling hungry so we went to Mcdonalds on Quay Street. When we finished we rushed to the furthest Traffic Light  so it could get us ahead of all the Traffic.

There were so many Traffic Jams and people in the city so I thought it was just one of those things when there's a celebration or something. I looked out my window and watched people doing dance battles and people chanting. I loved every second of it that I couldn't sleep in the backseat of the car but My brother and My Aunty Adah managed to fall asleep. As we just got off Queen Street it's like the City life just dies but i'm figuring that in the middle of Queen Street it's the Heart of Auckland City.

As we were just heading to Glen Innes My Aunty Adah started feeling hungry so we got her something to eat but for my Mum, Dad, Simon and My Self we all got Frozen Cokes. When we left we all started feeling tired so we all went home and had a Goodnights Rest.

The End

  1. Hi Michael,

Wow, it sounds like you had a great time on New Year's Eve. I also had a really nice time ringing in the new year with my friends. It was much quieter than your experience, though, as they live on the north shore of Auckland and nowhere near the city centre.

I hope that you have now fully recovered from your late night and are enjoying some quality time with your family. If you're looking for something fun to do you could join our blogging programme and earn points for blogging. Each blog that you post as part of the Summer Learning Journey is worth points. The students with the most points at Pt England school will earn prizes when you come back to school in February.

Are you keen? I hope so! If you'd like to join please just go to the Summer Learning Journey site (https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/) and click on the 'Register' tab. Once you're registered you can go to the 'Weekly Activities' tab and choose from any of the 20+ activities that are posted there for you to use. They are listed as Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 activities, etc. but you can do them in any order and you can do as many as you want to do.

I'll check back in tomorrow to see if you've joined our journey!

    Take care :)
    Rachel
