Finding pounamu
Finding Pounamu is a story that our reading group read. Here is a presentation that I made.
Rugby leage
In the morning Rm 13 went out to play rugby league. Our coach that was teaching us his name is James he is a very good coach because he taught us duck duck goose but in a cooler way. We had to pass the ball around the oval and you have to run around it. There is one more thing that i have to tell you there is this game called Benji says you have to copy what the coach says. It was on the netball court. all of the people with no shoes had sore feet. We played Octopus too but with rugby balls it was kind of crazy because children tag us with the ball. Some people always drop the ball and that was making the team angry.
We learnd how to defend. It was kind of hard but it got more fun and cool but still hard. i was tired after that we played draw and pass it was fun because we are in a line and we have to pass the ball to the person beside you without getting tackled
When you pass to that person, they try hard to score a goal.
We even practced attacking and passing back it was hard but we got the hang of it. Here are some video clips of our first lesson.

Will.i.am
On a nice day we had a Special visitor and his name is Will.i.am. Our whole school was in shock even i was shocked. he came and he spoke about his life and about his familys life. He spoke about how he was raised and how he was poor and his mum looked after him and his siblings i felt sorry for him. his dream was to be a singer and to help his mum his dream came true.
After that the hip hop group went on stage and did there dance from fiafia and then it was the kapa haka group did there dance. Will.i.am gave $100,000.0 to the Manaiakalani schools. We all thanked him for the money and we were so happy.

Immersion Assembly
On a lovely day Pt England school had an Immersion Assembly. It means that all of the teachers do funny things to get all of the kids get pumped up for the term. I was exsited for year 5 Item because it was funny and cool because Mr marks was a snowboard man with a bandana It was funny!
And team 3s item was superduper cool because they made ballons screme and they went arownd giving other people turns it was creative.

My hollidays
On a lovely holiday It was my birthday and I turned nine. For my birthday i got new shoes and a new game and $200 to bank. I also got a new rabbit his name is Bruno and he has red eyes and he is white with a leopard patterns on his back. Me and my family went out for lunch and as soon as we go home I was full. Me and my brother Simon played my new game as we were playing with my cousin John who showed up. He helped us on the game.
At night I went to play with my rabbit he knows how to stand on his two legs. And he knows how to jump very high after I played with my rabbit I played on my game. It is called Grand theft auto it is cool because you can clock it. He has cool guns.
We had a sleepover with my cosin John he clocked the game at night and I was so excited.

Fiafia
Point England school is having a Fiafia day. Our school is going to do cool dances and much more. Everyone gets into a group to do a dance. I picked hip hop because they dance very cool and have cool music. Hip hop dance is in room 12. I can’t wait for Fiafia. How the people get into there group you ask? Well the year 5, 6, 7 and 8 got to pick their groups online using their netbooks. The year 1, 2, 3 and 4 children their teachers have to mark what they pick. Fiafia is on the 18th of April on Thursday.
In hip hop my teacher is Mrs Barks we learned the beginning of our dance to the end of our dance it was hard but thankfully I learnd everything. I love hip hop I like the beginning because we stomp loud as. And at the end we all pretend to die. We have a special part in our dance and it is turning in time, we always fail at that part. But we have fun thats the best thing.
I enjoy my group because they are kind. But what I don't like about my group is
that they always talk loud. Our groups costumes are white t shirts and black pants.

Eel of Omaru Creek
Once upon a time there was an eel named Jake. He had many brothers and sisters, and they all lived in a beautiful freshwater creek called Omaru Creek. Jake the eel enjoyed playing with his family and friends amongst the crystal clear water and green river plants. Life couldn’t have been any better for Jake and his family.
One morning, Jake woke up to have breakfast with his family like how he usually did, but could not find anyone. This puzzled Jake, so he went off to find them. Once he swam out of his home, he came across a big black cloud of something, a plastic bag and some tinned cans. Jake was in shock! He swam faster to find his family and instead, came across his good mate Jeff who looked sick and was lying on a rock at the bottom of the river bed. Jake asked Jeff what was going on and if he had seen his family. Jeff said “No, he hasn’t” and that he didn’t feel well. He also said the black cloud in the river was oil from the farm next door and that was what was making him and everyone else in the beautiful creek feel sick. Jake swam off even faster to look for his family. He searched everywhere in the creek for them, but could not find them. He started to feel tired so he went back home.
After he got back home, he went searching around the house and suddenly found his family lying on weeds in the backyard. Jake realised that the oil and rubbish that was in the water was killing his friends and making his family sick. This disaster is called pollution. Jake gathered his remaining friends and family for a meeting. The humans had gone too far with their pollution that it was killing beautiful plants and creatures, and turning their whole world upside down. They had to do something now! They decided to move to another river but the pollution had reached their as well. Jakes remaining friends and family started to die after a couple of years and Jake realised that the pollution was just getting worse. There is not much left of Jakes kind anymore, so I think that us humans should beware of where we put our rubbish and be very careful about what we put down our drains.
